Physical Appearance :
Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Height: Average for his age. Build: Strongly muscled, yet slim. Light skinned.
Other Appearance Information: Rick, quite simply, is the build of the ideal soldier in the Kumogata region, being slim and quick, yet strong muscled and smart. He has spent a great deal of time getting his body to the shape it is now, and it shows, with the six pack happily showing itself on his chest, and the largely muscled arms always ready for action at his sides. His hair is a deep shade of brown, and is shaved so you can see its there and it covers all patches of baldness, but its still the required shave for army regulation, and is cut regularly due to its fast growing nature. His face spouts a pair of brown, hazel eyes which match the colour of his hair almost perfectly, the piercing stare of the eyes known for striking fear into the heart of the enemy during battle. Or at least, that’s what Rick says anyway. He has generally a clean, shaven face, but stubble grows back fairly swiftly on the Elite Four members face, something quite annoying to the man. His nose is very average, as is his ears and mouth. His eyebrows are rather thin, but black and visible still on his face, as his fringe doesn’t reach down far enough to cover them.
The uniform that Rick wears all the time he is out of his house is the most important part of his daily appearance, he believes. He washes the uniform every day, and makes sure every part of the uniform is up to scratch in case he is suddenly requested away to see his commanding general, which has happened before when he wasn’t prepared. He wears black army boots, shined to perfection after polishing them every night before going to sleep. Serving in the army for many years has managed to get Rick several army badges, all of which are polished nightly and worn on his uniform with much pride. His camouflage uniform is worn even during his elite four matches, whatever the time and whatever the weather. He has a army style beret with the symbol of the army plastered plainly across the top, making sure every knows that he serves with the army and certainly should not be messed with.
One of the things that Rick prizes the most is his gun. It’s big, it’s black, and it shoots bullets. Be wise, stay away.
Personal Related Information:
Personality: Ricks personality is how he was always trained to feel, always trained to be. He was trained to be the perfect disciplined young boy, and those traits have never left him throughout his whole life. He is physically and mentally one of the most focussed people you may ever meet, training constantly to improve his strength and wisdom over the battling community. He was trained to care little about how he personally feels, and the fact he should always treat others higher than himself, especially those who he chooses to fight against. He was trained to always believe himself to be worse than others, and the fact he always needs to improve himself or he will forever be inferior to those who oppress him or wish him harm. He was trained to think very big, and to know that regardless of how tough a challenge it may seem to you know, with enough improvement it will be a walk in the park. He was trained to care little for pain, and to overcome any suffering he may feel for the good of everyone else, rather than the good of himself, and was also trained to not flinch in the face of danger. He was trained to be a soldier, and a darn good one at that, and it seems the training paid off very well indeed.
Rick is the perfect soldier for several reasons, and one of those reasons is his strange view on mortality and death itself. He has no fear of death whatsoever, and is one of the people who has had it constantly forced into their brain that a fighting death is much more honourable than living as someone who ran away from the enemy. And he honestly believes that, and as such you will rarely see him run away from any sort of conflict. He has been taught to kill his opponent in battle likewise if he meets them on the army front. A honourable kill is much better than taking prisoners in Ricks eyes, and as such he will act that way in the midst of battle every single time. He doesn’t believe in bloodlust, and doesn’t see what he’s doing as wrong, simply what’s necessary for the goal at hand. He believes that sacrifice is necessary for anything to succeed, but is also the sort to determine that if it a choice between him or the enemy giving up their lives in battle, it certainly won’t be Rick that dies that day.
One personality that Rick does however own which wasn’t forced upon him is his amazing sense of humour. For someone who acts so seriously all the time, the fact he’s willing to sit down and have a joke with someone is remarkable and a strange oddity to some trainers who meet him. He loves listening to funny tales, rhymes, and anything that can give him a better outlook on life than what he already has, and anything that can brighten up his day. He also loves to make jokes, and even if others don’t find it funny he will willingly laugh for quite a while at his own remarks. Unfortunately, this is the closest he has currently got to having a human friend, simply joking around a bit with his army palls. His Pokemon, however, are his best friends, and he often hangs around on his days off simply playing with his Pokemon team, or training them if a new challenger is set to be on their way to battle soon.
History: Richard Aarron Naphir was born to Anna Naphir and Robert Naphir on a beautiful, warm summers morning in the beautiful village of Agate, situated in the northern region of Oore. A beautiful town, this place is known to be the retirement location for many of the Pokemon Worlds top trainers, including the like of Sandra, Ice Gym Leader of Hoenn, Michiah, Steel Gym Leader of Johto, and Robert Naphir, former Fighting Gym Leader of the Hoenn region before a young master Brawly took power. That’s right, Ricks father was a disciplined and highly trained former fighting Gym Leader, and as such, Rick had a very, very tough time growing up in his household. His father was very pressuring on the young boy to do amazing things and feats, training him from a young age to have very harsh opinions on various things, and to know that only one person had the correct view of life, and that was in fact his father. Rick didn’t mind the harshness or the bullying his father forced upon him, because it was all he knew, and honestly, it grew to be very normal and not really a problem at all to Rick, who showed a very strong physical and mental strength from the young age his father had started training him.
Of course, his mother Anna wasn’t particularly happy with the way that his father was disciplining him, and one day even found him physically beating Rick. Rick didn’t mind, he was used to that sort of punishment and saw nothing wrong with the beatings other than teaching him never to do what he did again. Anyway, Anna got a court ruling against Robert, and Rick was then moved away with his mother at the age of 12 to the Hoenn region, Dewford Island, where Anna was born and raised. Rick suddenly found himself completely perplexed. He had absolutely no social skills, so was poor at making friends. He was extremely disciplined prior to this point, but now had complete freedom. Finally, he had finally discovered that he could speak out without being hit down again, and actually was beginning to display signs of a personality. But the problem was, he had no idea how to live his life. He walked around the island for days on end doing nothing but walk, just to give him something to do. He would barely think during these walks, only focussed on moving his feet in a regulated pattern.
One day, he was taking one of his walks and passed the entrance to the Dewford caves, as he normally would, and after walking for a few more minutes realised he was being followed. Turning around rather surprised, he noticed a small yellow sumo type Pokemon staring back at him rather curiously. The pair simply stared at each other for about ten minutes before Rick simply got out his only pokeball and threw it at the Makuhita. Not knowing what to expect, he was surprised when the ball worked first time, capturing the Pokemon and the first friend he would have for many years. With his new Pokemon in hand, he finally had a chance to get back to the training regime he had known for the younger years of his life. Deciding it would be slightly unfair on the Pokemon to force it that hard, though, he just worked often training the Pokemon to be as good as him. And it worked, he and his partner becoming possibly the best trainer in the whole town. It was at this point, Makuhita happily decided to evolve into its stronger form, something that honestly surprised Rick; he didn’t realise it would do so this early. Happy with his Pokemon, though, he decided it was now a good time to start his journey.
Travelling across the Hoenn region with his partner, he eventually captured more Pokemon, including his Breloom, and had a full team of diverse Pokemon in time for the Pokemon League on the third year of his journey. He entered the tournament, and progressed to the final round, eventually coming second in a heated battle against a rock type specialist, who taught Rick a very powerful lesson. Weaknesses are quite easy to overcome if you put enough training in. He wasn’t disheartened by his loss in the league, in fact, he went away to train for a year in his intelligence and physical strength, visiting various places to study and improve himself. Reaching the age of 17, Rick decided it was time for drastic change in his life, and enrolled in the army in an attempt to prove himself to everyone around him and to do what he could think off as the only possible step after his journey thus far, and progressed through the army until the age of 23, at which point he saw something advertised which he couldn’t resist. An advertisement for the Elite Four.
He instantly began to train for this position, choosing the fighting type as his team, he got to work and managed to fit in army service as well as training at the same time. Eventually, he applied for the position, and amazingly, he was accepted as the fourth member of the Elite Four.
Character's Pokemon: (Most personalitis will be improved at a later date)
Name: Harry Gender: Male Species: Haryama Type: Fighting Level: 68 Attacks: Force Palm, Vacuum Wave, Arm Thrust, Smellingsalt Age: 20 Years of age Personality: Harry is the oldest of Ricks team, and is by far the strongest member due to his huge physical strength and years of experience, and boy does he mention it often. Over the years, as Rick has collected more Pokemon, Harry has only become more cocky and proud of himself, often explaining to the newer members exactly why he is and always will be the most powerful member on the team of Rick, and the closest to Ricks heart. Harry is very fond of his trainer, and has gone through thick and thin to make sure that his trainer is always one hundred percent okay, as otherwise Harry will hunt down whatever the cause of Ricks discomfort is, and most likely, smash it down into tiny little pieces with is huge hands. One of the traits that Harry received on evolution, you see, was the ability to smash things, and like most fighting Pokemon seem to think, smashing has become his favourite pastime activity, hobby, and one of his best discussion topics. Rick can only hope that his Pokemon will eventually overcome this and gain a bit of intelligence like he seemed to have bucketloads of as a Makuhita.
Name: Remus Gender: Male Species: Breloom Type: Grass/Fighting Level: 64 Attacks: Sky Uppercut, Dynamicpunch, Seed Bomb, Double Team Age: 18 Years of age. Personality: Remus is the tactical mastermind of the team, a Breloom built to understand everything that’s happening around him at all times, Remus truly is the brains behind this team of brawn. His intelligence capacity far surpassed the rest of the team, simply because he is practically the only member of the team that actively tries to be intelligent, whereas the rest only focus on different ways to improve their physical strength. By increasing his mental capacity, Remus believes he will one day be far more powerful than the rest of his team mates, simply because he’ll know how to battle against different enemies, adapt to different environments, and fight even when his physical state will eventually decrease. Also, he is a strong believer that he will live a much longer and plentiful life than the others, simply because he won’t make a stupid mistake like they will, and he’ll die peacefully of old age when the time comes for him to do so.
Remus’ capture was fairly simple compared to some of the other members of the team. One day, he was simply minding his own business in the forests of Petalburg, when out of nowhere a huge, angry Slaking came raging towards him. Being fairly stupid at this point in time, and being a bit of a practical joker, the Shroomish released a bullet speed spray onto the floor, hoping that the Slaking would slip over comically. Well, the Slaking did slip over alright, but he landed on tree, the impact causing the tree to fall back and hit another tree, and a comical anime sequence of chain reaction followed. Sufficient to say, the community was pretty angry with Remus, so he fled the group in an attempt to escape from Petalburg forest. It was at this time the young Rick Naphir had just began his journey, and was walking through the forest. Seeing the Shroomish run out of nowhere, he decided it was his lucky day and captured the mushroom, keeping it for a member of his team evermore.
Ever since that day, Remus has been determined to increase his mental strength, simply because he doesn’t want to make a life threatening mistake like that again, and so far it has worked. People are often surprised at the intelligence that the Breloom shows in battle, and even more surprised at the physical punch it can pack, even after dedicating its life to study. Rick is truly proud of his Breloom as a Pokemon, and often uses him to start off the battle, taking out a Pokemon and wearing down another quite a bit, to allow a physical beast like Harry to come in and smash them to pieces. He has grown a strong friendship with Hermione the Heracross, and is fascinated by her constant need to improve herself, a trait that Remus shares in a sense.
Name: Hermione Gender: Female Species: Heracross Type: Bug/Fighting Level: 67 Attacks: Megahorn, Close Combat, Aerial Ace, Counter Age: 15 Years of age. Personality: Hermione is the oldest of the two girls in the team, and quite frankly, is absolutely astonished at her younger counterpart, Tonks. Hermione has worked her whole life to get to the point where woman have a rightful place on the team of the final member of the Elite four, and then Tonks comes along and ruins everything , with her foolhardy ways and lack of proper movement. In Hermiones eyes, Tonks is an absolute disgrace to the rest of the team, and as such, she keeps a proper distance from the psychic type at all times, staying with Remus, the Breloom she has grown quite accustomed too as a friend. Honestly, if she had it here way, she would be the only female Pokemon on the team, as she was the only one that truly earned her place on the team. At least in her eyes, anyway. But she endures the team sharing, as long as she’s never grouped with Tonks just for her gender, that is.
The reason Hermione is so believing in these opinions, is that she has worked her entire life to get up to the point of a team worthy Pokemon. From her young age, she was ridiculed by other Pokemon simply for being a bug, a weakling, a woman. Even her own pack of Heracross all thought of her as weak and nothing more than a breeding tool, simply because she was female. Whereas all the rest of the pack could stand it, Hermione certainly would not, and in secret trained herself countless nights against the nearby Bug Pokemon in order to improve her skills and become just as strong as the males. Eventually, one night, one of the Heracross stepped much too far in Hermiones eyes, when it wasn’t even the mating season. Outraged, Hermione used a powerful barrage of Close Combat and beat the other Heracross until it was on the ground in a heaping mess. Flying away from the pack, now banished, she resolved to live her life on her own from then on.
Eventually, Rick captured her when he was exploring the Pattern Bush in the Sevii Islands, searching for a bug that could be used as aerial support. He found just the bug, and the advantage was that she was already fully trained, as well as being a fighting type also, Rick preferred type. Since then, she has done everything in her power to prove herself to her trainer, and to prove that she should be kept on the team at all costs. She trains nightly against anything that she can find, and is most likely one of the strongest Pokemon on the team, surpassed only by the five years older Hariyama.
Name: Tonks Gender: Female Species: Medicham Type: Fighting/Psychic Level: 64 Attacks: Thunderpunch, Detect, Psychic, Hi Jump Kick Age: 12 Years of age. Personality: Tonks is the most uncoordinated Pokemon that Rick has ever had the fortune to meet, tripping constantly over herself and landing flat on the floor. Because of this, Tonks has slowly managed to adapt her own psychic abilities into giving her a very different and unique fighting style. She no longer moves along the ground during battles, rather, floating a very small distance of the ground, running through the air but never making any contact. This makes her the perfect operative for a stealth mission, as the enemy will never hear her footsteps coming in the darkness. She still occasionally manages to somehow trip up on air, mind. She is very friendly to human and Pokemon alike, and will run up to greet anyone she doesn’t know, having no fear of being social and relaxing in a group of people. She has a slight aversion to other psychic types, as they shun her for her fighting strengths rather than putting it towards wisdom.
Name: Ronald Gender: Male Species: Poliwrath Type: Water/Fighting Level: 65 Attacks: Belly Drum, Dynamicpunch, Hydro Pump, Ice Punch. Age: 10 Years of age. Personality: Ronald shares the personality of his trainer in countless different ways, but the main way is definitely the way that he commands over the rest of the team like a old army general, regardless of the fact he’s actually the teams youngest member. Even being the youngest of the team, he is actually the most experienced in the horror of war, being used almost all the time whenever Ricks on duty. Ronald an extremely arrogant personality about him, and refuses to be proved wrong by anyone or anything anytime. He always stands that his opinions must be true, even if they were disproved hundreds of years ago, which is on of the thing that makes this Poliwrath such a fun Pokemon to stick around with. He was captured as a Poliwag on Ricks first tour of duty, when Rick found the poor little Pokemon with its tail stuck under a rock. He saved it, and the Pokemon was forever grateful.
(Not part of Gym Team)
Name: Marvolo Gender: Male Species: Aerodactyl Type: Rock/Flying Level: 65 Attacks: Fire Fang, Wing Attack, Iron Head, Dragon Claw Age: 10,000 Years of age. Personality: Marvolo is a grouchy old Pokemon, and is by far the most disobedient Pokemon in the whole team, having a loathing hatred of all fighting Pokemon as well as his owner. Marvolo was one of the few Pokemon who back in the day accepted that they were going to die, and awaited a beautiful afterlife to go to after they went. All that ended up happening was the Pokemon found there was no afterlife after all, simply a load of darkness which went on for 10,000 long years. He eventually grew used to the darkness, and almost happy with it, but then he was yanked out of this cold, dark world and into the Region of Kumogata. He was angered by being awoken from what he considered his time of rest, but was very happy to be alive again. Alive, breathing and powerful enough to extract his revenge on all human kind. Then of course, he was returned to his pokeball and only let out in dire need.
