—Enter— —DARTIZO—
Dart laughed to himself as he leaped up from the table and put his now empty bowl of cereal into the dishwasher so fast that he could swear he heard a small chip coming off. You see, today was a big day for him. This was the day that Dartizo Suzaki, (or Dart, as all his friends called him) begun the adventure of a lifetime.
Kids all over the world wanted to do what he was about to do, and Dart thanked his lucky stars that he was getting such an amazing chance. The sixteen year old boy shouted a quick goodbye to his mother, who was most likely still sleeping, before he bounced elatedly out of the front door and onto the pavement outside the house.
Looking around, he smiled. It was a beautiful day, perfect for starting his adventure. His hand fell to his waist and rested on the single pokeball which was hidden there under the thick material of his long brown coat. Inside was Smeargle, his one true friend. He'd known Smeargle for a while now, but until today it had been just chilling out in the park, or doing some painting.
But today was different.
He walked for just a few minutes, it wasn't very far to his destination at all, in fact it was just down the street. A minute or two later he arrived. Dart gulped, wondering how it ever came to be that a kid like him ended up outside the lab of a famous professor like Pine. He smiled to himself at his own good fortune, and knocked on the door, peering through the window. Usually the area outside the lap was packed with trainers and researchers trying to get a glimpse of the famous professor, but it was sunday today, and early to boot. Not many people were up at this sort of time, but if Dart had learned one thing from his time in the town it was that Professor Pine did her research in the mornings.
Dart stood there slowly, waiting for the door to open so he could finally meet Professor Pine. He thought through all his questions in his head, although there were so many of them that he could hardly organize them and ended up confusing himself. He shook his head, he didn't want to appear flustered. Dart cleared his mind and sighed, knocking on the door once again.

Professor Pine sat staring at her computer screen, her fingers rapidly typing her response to a question asked on a Forum for new trainers, responding to the best of her ability about Trade Evolutions and why they happen. Of course, she didn’t actually know the reason that Trade Evolution does have, none of the main Professors studying it, but she had a good enough idea that would tell the young boy asking everything he needed to know. Besides her, looking lazily at the computer while lying down on one of the padded desk chairs that the Professor owns, Wart was slowly waking up from what was some much deserved sleep, at least in his opinion. He had been spending the entire night helping train Plug up a bit more, an was exceptionally proud with the electric types progress. He had really done a good job, learning Ice Punch like that simply from Wart showing him the move fifty odd times, acting as a Move Tutor for the Elekid, teaching it the move in the same way he had learnt it from a old trainer in Sinnoh several years ago. Suddenly a knock the door diverted his sleepy attention from the computer, and made him leap off his chair, and head for the door happily.
Leaping up and grabbing the doorknob, he turned it quickly, and allowed in the boy he hadn’t seen before. He gave him a look that said ‘it’s a bit early in the morning, isn’t it?’ but nonetheless, beckoned the boy to follow and strolled along to the section of the lab Pine was currently sitting at. “Tort, Wartortle” He exclaimed to his owner, pointing at Dart before leaping back onto his chair and withdrawing into his shell, hoping to have a bit more privacy. Pines eyes lit up as Dartizo came in, and she quickly leapt up and walked over to him. “Welcome to my lab, young child! I assume you are hear for a star-” But she then decided against saying that straight away, as young ones have often come to the lab before with Pokemon in hand, their only desire meeting the great professor “-ter tips? I can provide you with plenty of info about the Pokemon in this area, as well as some information about the region, the Gym Leaders (of course, only the first two, I wouldn’t want to spoil anything) and of course my chosen field of subject, Shiny Pokemon.”
She smiled gleefully, and glanced over to her Wartortle, exclaiming “Yes, a Shiny Pokemon, he was my starter and is my oldest Pokemon. I have four more shiny Pokemon in the area, one of them going out for a early morning fly, the other in the kitchen. My Elekid is asleep, having stayed up all night, and my Magneton…well, you’ll see.” She smiled happily and waited for the boy to speak back to her, as she had nothing further to say if he didn’t comment at all. She sure hoped that the boy was smart, and really hoped he would go on far in the region, and possibly visit her again when he’s slightly older. “So, do you have a starter Pokemon, or shall I help you catch one?”

Dart was a little taken aback when the door was opened by a Wortortle. He'd never seen one in person before, but he'd been doing a lot of research on the computer recently and he'd come across this species more than a few times. What did confuse Dart though, was the fact that he seemed to be colored slightly different from the ones he'd seen on the internet. But before Dart could inquire as to why this was, he was dragged inside as the professor started talking.
He listened intently, hanging on the womans every word. He found this study fascinating, and wished that maybe one day he could be like her, knowing so much about pokemon and having all the rarest pokemon in the region. It took him a while to realize she was waiting for his reply, but when he eventually did, he shook his head and nodded. "Oh, Er. Yeah!" he exclaimed, taking the single Pokeball from his waist and holding out for the professor to examine.
"It's a Smeargle," he said happily, hoping that his pokemon (Who he knew was a very rare species) would impress the professor. "She's quite lovely, should I let her out?" he asked the woman, a smile on his face. He looked around the room, wondering whether or not he should take a seat. Dart decided against it, it might be rude and he certainly didn't want to upset a famous professor like Gloria Pine.
"Ah, So that's what it is," he said, looking at the Wortortle who had tucked all his limbs into his shell and appeared to be sleeping, or at least taking a little rest. "I thought there was something strange about him..." he said, trailing off for a second. Dart wondered whether or not he'd ever see a 'shiny' pokemon. If Professor Pine had managed to not only Find, but also catch Five shiny Pokemon then they couldn't be that rare. He paused. Then again, she had probably spent her whole life searching for them, so it was unlikely he would find them.
"I have a lot of questions, You see i want to become a a Pokemon collector. I hope you don't mind me asking this, but do you know where I could find one of these 'Shiny Pokemon'? It's just that I love these rare kinds, and if I could catch something as rare as a shiny then it'd really make my day," he beamed. Of course, this wasn't all his questions, but at the moment this was the one at the top of his mind. Dart smiled. The day was off to a great start.

“A Smeagle?” Pine said, taking a step back. From what her research has told her, Smeargle were extremely difficult Pokemon to capture, having only one common location in the Hoenn Region, being rare in Johto, and living only on one route of the Sinnoh Region. Pine wasn’t completely certain where Smeargle lived in her own region, as there have been so few sightings, but she guessed they were scattered around in various nooks and crannies, even if she’d never find them. She’d never seen one in the life before, so she smiled happily, exclaiming “Sure, let her out. I’m sure she’d love to take a look around the lab.” She smiled encouragingly, looking down at the pokeball. Smeargle were not only difficult to capture, but also very hard to raise, considering the only move they learn naturally is Sketch. How a trainer can pick out four moves as their own, Pine would never know. The difficulty of that sort of a decision would take her years to work through. She smiled to herself; it was a good thing she’d never found a Shiny Smeargle, as she most likely would never have go to where she is today while owning one.
Pine listened happily to the boy say his questions, and then her heart fell a tiny bit. How was she supposed to say to a beaming young trainer that the chances of him finding a shiny were slim to none, but, well, that wasn’t strictly true… “Unfortunately, Shiny Pokemon are extremely rare, and upon average, only one in 8,192 Pokemon are Shiny, meaning you have to keep a real look out for them. However, because of their rare colour, many Pokemon trainers have sought them. I know for a fact that the Champion of this region has a Shiny Pokemon; a Golden Sableye, and also there’s a Shiny Parasect in the Mossy Pass, although the chance of meeting this Parasect are slim to none, and capturing it is forbidden by the government, due to this particular Parasect being a ‘national treasure’ or something of the sort. I have the largest collection of Shinies in the country, mind, and have spent my whole life looking for them. The best bet of finding one is in an extremely crowded place, like a Power Plant or such, as the more Pokemon in an area, the more chance of finding a Shiny one. I’m still searching for them, of course. If you ever find a Shiny Pokemon, or what you think is a shiny, bring them to me and I can confirm it, and add it to the Pokedex.” She smiled, finally taking a breather.

Dart grinned. The professor seemed impressed by his Smeargle. He'd thought they were rare and he was happy to say that Professor Pine's expression gave him the confirmation he needed to say his Pokemon was very rare. He nodded, pressing the button on the Pokeball he held in his hand and holding out in front of him.
There was a loud whooshing noise as the Pokéball opened and out shot a beam of light, which made it's way to the ground and formed into the shape of Dart's one and only Pokemon. Smeargle stood in the center of the floor for a while, looking around, before turning up his nose and beginning to walk slowly around the room, looking for something interesting to play with.
Dart smiled at the sight of his smeargle doing what he always did, then shrugged and turned back to the professor to listen to what she had to say about shiny Pokemon. It was a long speech, but Dart was very interested and listened to every word of what the professor had to say. Once she was done speaking though, Dart's face fell. "Wow, One in Eight-Thousand One Hundred and Ninety-two? That's very Specific.. How did you even work that out?" he asked, Confused. "But Yeah, I promise, if I ever find a Shiny Pokémon i'll bring it straight here and show it to you," he smiled.
"The odds don't seem very good of Finding myself a Shiny Pokemon then... Surely there must be places where they are more common, or ways of finding them a bit quicker?" Dart sighed. "Well if i can't find any of them, I guess i'll just settle for normal rare Pokemon," he grinned.

Pines eyes widened in delight as the Smeargle was sent flying out of its Pokeball and into the ground in front of Pine, and she quickly held back a fangirlish scream. Smeargle were extremely rare Pokemon, and had perhaps the best artistic ability in the entire world of Pokemon, their skills of painting being matched by none other. By the looks of the Smeargle, it was most likely young, and as such most likely had little moves. She wasn’t surprised, most people that manage to get Smeargles don’t even learn of their ability until quite late into their possession. “I don’t know if you’ve realised this, but your Smeargle will most likely have quite a brilliant ability. The ability to sketch another Pokemons move, able to copy it and remember it forever, unless you choose to forget it. I was just bringing it up, as I have five Pokemon with some fairly good moves in this lab, and if you chose to want your Smeargle to learn one or two, I’d be personally happy to oblige to this request.” She smiled, showing her well kept teeth again, and then staring down to the Smeargle as she went off to find whatever she was looking for.
“The Average was worked out by a fairly tough procedure involving scanning every Pokeball in the entire Pokemon world. You see, Pokeballs can recognise if a Pokemons shiny or not, and as such, we searched all of the Pokeballs and managed to find that average by simply counting.” She smiled as the boy mentioned that he would indeed bring any discovered Shiny Pokemon to her, happy to not only inspire a young collector, but get them to aid her research at the same time. She knew it was slightly evil, but who really cares? “Well, the only method that I’m willing to share with you is a method known as Masudas method, named after the breeder that invented it, perhaps you’ve heard of him. Basically, if you take say, a Magikarp from this region, Relgran, and breed it with a Magikarp from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Orre, Almia, Fiore or any other of the regions where it can be found, the chance of hatching a shiny is quartered. It isn’t much help, but is still very useful for collectors like me. I’m considering starting the method itself, but it’s nowhere near as fun as the thrill of meeting a random shiny.”
At that moment, a golden head forced its way through a gap in the window, and the long beady neck began to twirl as the Pokemon looked around the lab. Pine smiled, and walked over to the window, opening it fully and allowing her Altaria to fly in. “This is Serenity, my Altaria. She generally stays outside, but comes back once or twice a day for a bit of affection.” She smiled, stroking her Altaria, who stood up completely straight, making sure that Dart could see her entire beauty. She was very vain, and wanted Dart to realise that she had every right to be so.

<Dragon Rush xD> Dart was very excited when Pine explained to him about the special Ability that most Smeargles possessed. "Wow, i knew he was good at art but i didn't expect him to be able to do stuff like that..." he said, grinning at the prospect of all the powerful moves that he could teach his Smeargle from this ability. He nodded at Pine's proposition, happy that she was offering to help him. "Oh, Yes please, that would be great! Any Pokemon who you think would have some good moves that could help me?" he asked.
He thought about what the professor was saying about the Shiny Pokemon carefully. There seemed to be a lot of gaps. "Hm, Well if they are so rare then surely most of them would be hidden still in the wild, and only a few would have been caught by trainers... Eurh.. Nevermind," he said. It was too complicated, and who was he to argue with a smartest pokemon professor in the region?
As Altaria entered the room, a wide smile spread across Dart's face. "Wow... She's awesome," he smiled, reaching forward to stroke the Pokemon, hoping that she wouldn't mind. He looked up at Professor Pine. "I think i'd like Smeargle to copy one of her attacks.. It'd be an honor to have the same attacks as a beautiful Pokemon like this," he grinned.
Dart turned around quickly, calling his Smeargle to come over to him. With a quiet grumble, Smeargle made his way over and stood by Darts side, reaching just above his knee. "Er. I'm not sure whether these attacks will do a lot of Damage... Perhaps we should sketch it outside?" he asked, Gesturing to the crisp green grass outside professor pine's lab.

“Don’t argue with me.” Pine snapped instantly. “I’m sure there are many Shiny Pokemon in the wild, but the chance of you ever catching one is 1 in 8,192, ‘cause they’re good at hiding themselves. It’s not just trainers that treat them different for their colour, but Pokemons as well, bullying them for being unique…it’s horrible, and makes my job a lot, lot harder, you see.” She smiled at last, hoping that she had put the young whippersnapper into his place. Pine was the smartest Pokemon professor in the world in the region, and she would not let a young, although nice, boy attempt to tell her that her research is wrong. Anyway, she was going to help the boy out by giving his Smeargle one of his Pokmeons moves, but of course, nothing too powerful. She wouldn’t want the boys first move to be Explosion, would she? Although, that would be a pretty funny sight to watch, a Smeargle using Explosion…no. She had to clear these thoughts from her head. For all everybody else knew she was a sweet old lady living in a lab and petting her Pokemon, but in reality she was a right old cow with a extremely high IQ making her feel more superior than others. It was a good life being the supposed smartest person in the region.
“She is awesome indeed…My pride and joy, aren’t you Serenity?” The Altaria chirped in agreement, sticking her neck out for more stroking, the vain Altaria loving to be loved, so to speak. <“A Smeargle? One of those artist Pokemon? Ooh, perhaps he’ll have the ability to pain something as beautiful as me! Hey, Smeargle, over here, true beauty awaits you!”> As the Smeargle walked grumbling over to its trainer, Pine smiled as the man said he would willingly make his Smeargle sketch one of the attacks of her Altaria, at which the golden bird cawed in delight, fluttering her cloud like feathers elegantly. Pine smirked and said “Darling, I don’t think the townsfolk will be best pleased with a loud attack in the middle of their town, let’s go out back instead” she said, pointing to the back exit of the lab. “Out here are my gardens, the place where I keep the PC Pokemon of anyone who doesn’t have or want a relative to keep them. They have a great time out here, but unfortunately, nobody is thoughtful enough to put a Shiny in their PC box…” She sighed, and continued onwards, the pair heading swiftly into the gardens.
“Right then, I’ll teach you Dragon Rush rather than any other attack, as it can do damage, and won’t blow up the world. Serenity, do it please.” The Altaria nodded and swiftly began and finished the Dragon Rush attack, making sure to do it with as much grace as physically possible. “Did you get that? It’s a good attack, use it well.”

Rikash was a bit surprised by Pine's outburst, and quickly apologized. "I'm Sorry Miss, I didn't mean to upset you. But really, the shiny Pokemon in the wild get bullied? That's terrible, i'd have thought they were revered or something..." he said, trying to get back on the professors good side.
Rikash laughed at Altaria, who seemed very happy that Smeargle was going to Sketch one of her attacks. Rick nodded. "Yeah, I suppose. C'mon Smeargle, Let's go round the back," he smiled, following Professor Pine out the back door and into the garden.
Rikash was very excited to see Altaria's attack, and when it finally happened he was in no way disappointed. The Dragon rush was amazing to look at, and as he did Rikash almost forgot to tell Smeargle to copy it. Not quite though.
"Go on Smeargle, Can you remember that? Could you Sketch it?" he asked, to which the Smeargle replied with a silent nod and a smile. Up until now he'd been quite Grumpy, but with a new move to sketch, his mood had improved a lot. Smeargle got to work, and as the paint flowed from his tail into the air, it was easy to see that Smeargle was an Amazing artist.
Soon, the Sketch was done and Smeargle smiled up at Rikash, having learned the move perfectly. It helped that Altaria was such a strong and graceful Pokemon, as her almost perfect attack was very easy and exciting for Smeargle to copy.
Rick smiled at his Pokemon. "Go on, Can you show me Smeargle? Use Dragon rush," he instructed. Smeargle didn't have to be told twice. Excited at the opportunity to use this new and powerful move, he immediately put it to work, quickly beginning and finishing the attack in almost exactly the same way that Serenity had done.
Rikash beamed. "Wow, that was amazing! Thank you so much, Professor," said Rikash. He was over the moon at the professors kindness and all the help that she'd given him, and now Rikash was excited to go out into the region and begin his own pokemon adventure. He glanced down at the watch around his wrist.
"Sorry professor, but i told my parents i wouldn't be here very long, and i'm going to have to take off. Thank you so much for your help, and i promise that if i ever manage to find a shiny Pokemon then i'll come and show it to you straight away," he smiled.
"Smeargle, Return" said Rick, holding out Smeargle's Pokeball and pressing the button that would return the Painter Pokemon to his ball. Smeargle disappeared, changing into red energy and was whooshed back into the pokeball. Rikash thanked Professor pine again, shaking her hand and then smiling at Serenity. "And thank you to, for letting Smeargle copy your attack,"
With his thankyous and goodbyes said, Rikash Saswati turned away from the Professor, leaving the baack garden and quickly exiting through the front door of the lab, excited that his Pokemon adventure could now finally begin.
